This page is here to help remember where some reference material was found. I have divided these up into regions to help keep things somewhat organized.
USA
Since my research began with US Records I am placing this list first. I started with a free Ancestry.com account. I created my tree and kept it private. Since initial creation of that tree I have created a few separate trees to play with and a few to help other relatives and friends out in their adventures.
Ancestry.com is just of several sites where you can search records and create family trees. Each has their own benefits and most have DNA testing available to display your ethnicity and find DNA matches. Beware DNA especially, but even the records you dig up could dig up skeletons you might not want to deal with.

Bohemia
We knew that my father's side was Bohemian - although my grandparents did not call themselves Bohemian. They did not want to be thought of as Gypsies as the term had become associated with. But Bohemia was the original country so that is what I like to reference.
When I started really diving into records in "the old country" I found that just about every question I came up with had an answer at Blanka's blog site.

In addition to present day Germany, many other records are written in German if not in the native language of the country or in Latin. This includes but is not limited to Poland, Austria, Hungary and other countries in the central part of Europe.
